Special Note for Grade 3 Students in Split Grade 3/4 Classes
While the Grade 4 students have been studying habitats; Grade 3 students have been studying growth and change in plants. Therefore it is important for Grade 3 students to use their diorama to demonstrate their knowledge of growth and change in plants. Grade 3 student dioramas should demonstrate the following:
plants provide shelter or building materials for animals
plants provide food for animals
plants use nutrients, water and sunlight to grow and survive
Grade 3 students have also been taught about the 5 different kinds of plants. They should use their diorama to show some of these different kinds of plants and ensure that the plants they make match the habitat they have chosen to build.
Grade 3 students DO NOT need to include a complete food web as part of their project.
